About the Event
The tree ogham (pronounced OH-AM) is a Celtic system used by the ancient druids to encode their wisdom. This is a drop in session for those who want to communicate with trees(!) by creating your own Ogham sticks using the Ogham alphabet (mark your own name, or the tree associated with your birthday for exampe...) or share your own knowledge with us surrounding Ogham. You'll also be able to learn more about....
The Ogham Alphabet which is a system of writing formed of simple lines. Each letter of the alphabet was named after a tree or a shrub, therefore some have come to refer to it as the 'Tree Alphabet'.Â
The Ogham Wheel. As part of our Ostara (J)oy Event celebrating the Spring Equinox we wanted to shed light on The Ogham Wheel. The Wheel represents a year; a seasonal cycle of time from the Winter Solstice, through 6 months to Summer Solstice.Â
This event is free but we'd greatly appreciate if you wished to make a donation to Earth in Common upon entry to Leith Community Croft.Â
